An Analysis of Learners’ Needs of Arabic as a Foreign Language at Jordanian Universities

Conducting analysis in language needs has long been seen as essential. Given the importance of Arabic primary communication most Jordanian universities, this study aims at exploring difficulties encountered by non-native speakers learning language. It also seeks to investigating learners’ regarding a foreign (AFL) Universities. The participants include 169 students from four countries (i.e., Malaysia, Thailand, China, and Indonesia). were selected three different disciplines Language, Islamic Finance, Usuluddin). used questionnaire adapted previous studies on topic. contains 49 items: 26 items ask about language, 23 students’ it. results revealed Arabic. reported their for improving proficiency mentioned some related productive skills such writing speaking. They receptive but with more focus academic context. Based study, recommendations future research have provided. Keywords: Needs Analysis, Speakers Other Languages, Yarmouk University.
